Fogo
Island, the largest of Newfoundland's offshore islands is located
just off the Northeast Coast of Newfoundland. The Island is a mere
33 km long and 14 km wide. The Island consists of eleven different
and distinct communities in which nearly 3000 people reside. It portrays
traditional outport life in Newfoundland, and even today maintains
a strong hold on the fishery.
